Minimum-Workforce Legislation

The Democrats are now in power, and one of the first tasks on their agenda is to raise the minimum wage. Now, I was thinking, how about they pass legislation to have companies increase the size of their workforces. Raising the minimum wage is about economic fairness. you raise people's pay. Well, doesn't increasing the number of people who are employed do the same thing? There are many people who are unemployed who might not be otherwise. Having companies hire moe workers is little different from raising the minimum wage, in terms of the costs and benefits. So, I propose that the Democrats require companies to hire some number of workers, either a minimum number, or one in accordance with corporate revenues or profits. If we are going to set things right, we need more people working, not just those already working being better paid.

Impeaching Bush, Cheney and the Gang is an imperative

I know Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have said that impeachment is off the table, because of the fact that it distracts from the party's objectives. Now I respectfully, but totally disagree with this analysis. The Democratic Party is around to help the American people and defend the Republic, not sucumb to the evils of the Republicans. And one of the essential ways of keeping the party's soul is adhearing to the rule of law.
Now you see, the funny thing is that the Democrats don't have to give any justifications as to why they are doing it. In the Constitution it plainly states that if the president or others in their adminstration commits high crimes and misdemeanors, then they should be impeached. Now then, since when have Bush Co not committed high crimes and misdemeanors. They surely did when they tortuned contrary to the Geneva Conventions, showing their contempt not so much for liberals as for the rule of law in this country, which they claim to pine for. Additionally, we have the illegal war in Iraq, we have corruption run amok, etc.
If we don't impeach Bush Co, or have investigations and try to impeach him, what will we be telling people? That we need to stay on the agenda? Comeon, we have been telling the party to put principles above politics, and now is the time to do exactly that. Put Bush on the stand. Lets see how he likes being in the hot seat.
