The Democrats are now in power, and one of the first tasks on their agenda is to raise the minimum wage. Now, I was thinking, how about they pass legislation to have companies increase the size of their workforces. Raising the minimum wage is about economic fairness. you raise people's pay. Well, doesn't increasing the number of people who are employed do the same thing? There are many people who are unemployed who might not be otherwise. Having companies hire moe workers is little different from raising the minimum wage, in terms of the costs and benefits. So, I propose that the Democrats require companies to hire some number of workers, either a minimum number, or one in accordance with corporate revenues or profits. If we are going to set things right, we need more people working, not just those already working being better paid.
